A moving tribute to a very special cat
|
 |
Therese,
Terry and Theron
Therese, Terry and Theron are siblings to Theresa (see below),
Terry in the middle in grey/white. These kittens are playful,
I can hear the ping pong balls going in the night and they can
purr but will need to be handled a lot to gain confidence.
UPDATE: Terry and Theron have found homes! Therese is
still waiting for that someone special.

 |
Phantom
Phantom is a golden oldie at 14 years of age and she has golden
flecks in her fur. She is so super affectionate and lovely this
cat you just have to pick her up and hug her. She had a love affair
with her kennel while I was taking the photo, she just can’t
get enough of touching. Phantom will go well with another cat
and although I haven’t tried her out with Daisy Dog I have
no doubt her affections will include dogs as well.

 |
Ivan
Ivan is another senior from the pound which had a death sentence
hanging over him. He is so happy when he gets cuddles and presses
his little body into mine as if to say ‘don’t let
go of me’ as if I would, well, I will when the right person
comes along. I suggest everyone to read Happy Tails and all the
tributes to the seniors, they have so much to give and wouldn’t
it be wonderful to be completely un selfish and give to a senior,
forget about quantity of years, concentrate on quality of life.
I work in a nursing home, I have seen it all.
| Ivan
is proudly sponsored by Susie and Terry, cats Max and
Trim and former Havenite Jessica/Molly.
|
 |
|
 |
Greta
Greta, young female in all grey. She is loving, she is playful
and she gets along with the other cats very well. Grey cats are
normally very sought after so hopefully the right home will come
and claim this little girl.
| Greta
is proudly sponsored Sarah
Brown and
her cats Kee & Milky.
|
 |
|
 |
Betty
Betty is a sprightly juvenile always ready for play and cuddles.
Betty is very dog friendly and sees every day as a new adventure.
| Betty
is proudly sponsored by Jenny and Bruce, cats Emmy, Jack,
Jazzie, Minty and Harry. In memory of White.
. |
 |
|
 |
Magnus
Magnus is a semi longhair tabby, juvenile, with the sweetest and
happiest disposition. He is actually a brother to Blondie
and the two get on so well together.
| Magnus
is proudly sponsored by Laura,
Michael, cats Mathilda and former Havenite Pirate.
|
 |
|
 |
Hannibal
Hannibal is a young male, very attractive and affectionate, note
the tabby in him. Hannibal is a little bit out of his depth being
surrounded by so many cats but has settled in nicely and never
says no to a cuddle.
|
 |
Roxanne
Roxanne, juvenile beautiful girl. Roxanne and her siblings had
their share of cat flu when very young but are now declared fit
and healthy and ready to become loved members in families of their
own.
Roxanne is proudly sponsored by Simonne and Kate
from St Kilda, in memory of Floppa.
|
 |
|
 |
Rex
Rex, brother to Roxanne, affectionate and playful, he loves his
sister so anyone who would like two cats, here they are.
|
 |
Calum
Calum is a cute little chap whose favourite sleeping place is
in my desk draw. He loves his toys and can play for hours with
his ball.
|
 |
Camilla
Camilla a young calico is very playful. She has been taught to
play with hands, something I always discourage in cats and she
is learning very quickly not to do so but because of this I don’t
recommend her for kids. She has a very soothing purr when content.
| Camilla
is
proudly sponsored by Rosana,
Thomas, and cats Bonnie and Clyde, in Perth
.
|
 |
|
 |
Helge
Helge is a mature gentleman and those sad eyes of his tell a story
of not being wanted, abandoned then saved but still no one is
interested in giving this very gentle cat a home. He doesn't ask
for much, he wants to be near his human, food and a warm bed and
his eyes will sparkle once more before he is being called to a
better place than the one here on earth.

Sensational
Seniors
I have a number of Senior Cats, all beautiful and affectionate.
I also know it takes a special kind of person to take one of these
golden oldies in, "they are not value for money" as
one woman coldly expressed it. But I disagree - they are more
valuable and special than anyone could imagine. There is no price
on the love a senior rescue cat will give you. And some people
have the gift of giving, thinking of an older pet as something
to treasure and only wanting to make these last years on earth
happy and fulfilled for a senior that has been cruelly abandoned
when they needed their owners the most and as I say over and over
it is not quantity that counts but quality. These cats have so
much to give, they are so grateful for a warm spot to sleep in,
good food and to sit on a lap being cuddled, it will be Paradise
on earth and you can be the giver.

Vincent
Little Vincent, juvenile, had a very happy loving home for a month
but unfortunately his dad turned out to be so allergic he was
hospitalised. Vincent is an affectionate little chap and will
be a great family addition.
|
 |
Cloud
Cloud, juvenile in all white and deaf. This little cat was a spur
of the moment buy and as so often happens, the kitten grew up
and wasn’t ‘cute’ any longer and so abandoned.
Cloud needs to be an inside cat due to her fair complexion and
deafness and would benefit greatly from having another feline
companion. She is super affectionate.
|
 |
Rubenette
Rubenette, juvenile daughter of Ruben. Rubenette is a very dark
tortoiseshell hence she is not coming up too well in a photo.
She is a little bit timid but a very affectionate cat once you
know her. Her dearest wish is to find a home with her daddy, Ruben,
which you will find if you scroll down the list of cats.
| Rubenette
is proudly sponsored by Cathy, Barbara and cat Tamieke. |
 |
|
 |
Katman
Katman, a handsome juvenile who is very used to kids - hairy smelly
dogs is another matter but I am sure they can get used to one
if need be. Dogs and cats normally get on very well.
| Katman
is proudly sponsored by Pip,
Stella, Chardonnay
and Saucer |
 |
|
 |
Kevin
Kevin, like his brother a juvenile, is also very used to kids,
having spent his kittenhood with them. Kevin also has that tabby
gene in him which makes him special.
| Kevin
is proudly sponsored by Anji and Kenny Alexander, kids
Roxanne, Callum and Andy and Sharpei Lizzie. |
 |
|
 |
Amanda
Amanda a young, very attractive feline. Amanda hates being a shelter
cat but is settling in. She is more at ease now and purrs when
being held and she has discovered that the beds have heat pads
in them and she is making full use of her bed in her one bedroom
apartment where she also has her very own bowl of Hill’s
Science Diet dry food for beautiful cats.
| Amanda
is proudly sponsored by Nicholas in memory of his wife
Voula. |
 |
|
 |
Sam
Sam, jet black juvenile, is a happy outgoing young lad which loves
to cuddle. When no cuddler is around, he is seen running around
making the most of any activity he can find.
| Sam
is proudly sponsored by Lorraine and Graeme
and their two cats. |
 |
|
 |
Claudia
Claudia a young mother has now seen her babies safely placed in
loving forever homes and is hoping that someone will fall for
her charms. She is a quiet cat but she can play and she loves
to cuddle.
| Claudia
is proudly sponsored by Susie and Terry, cats Max and
Trim and former Havenite Jessica/Molly.
|
 |
|
 |
Paulette
Paulette, juvenile, is brimming with health but then again she
was brought up by both her mother and her aunt, Paula & Pauline.
Paulette might be a bit shy at first but she has a loud purr and
will be a very faithful companion.
| Indy
is proudly sponsored by Liza, Ariene
and Graham Herschell.
|
 |
|
 |
Phoebe
Phoebe is a young female with a short tail. Phoebe is affectionate
and she is pretty but can’t understand what she is doing
in a shelter. She always believed her owners loved her as she
loved them but they were humans and humans dump their pets when
inconvenient. Phoebe will never be abandoned again.
| Phoebe
is
proudly sponsored by Karyn and Jeff
from Bacchus Marsh.
|
 |
|
 |
Ruthie
Ruthie a senior cat lady found herself without a home just when
the cold weather started, all traces of ownership destroyed. This
cat is so sweet but she needs to be an only cat. Ruthie is in
very good health and will be a good lap warmer.
|
 |
Electra
Electra, a young to middle-aged girl, was so starved when she
arrived, her whole body shivers when she eats like she has electric
currents going through her. This cat will always be on the look
out for food and she is so grateful for any attention given to
her I feel bad representing the human race because this cat did
not dump her herself, a human did.
| Electra
is
proudly sponsored by
Hollie, her cats Smokey, Smudge
and Biscuit, rabbits Sasha and Twix.
|
 |
|
 |
Stephen
Stephen, a young very handsome male found himself facing the needle
at a local clinic as he was no longer wanted, he had had his two-three
years with his owner and when the owner was taken in to a nursing
home no one else was going to bother with the ‘grey cat’.
Thank heavens the vet refused, Stephen is now safe and his very
skinny frame will soon have a layer of meat on it. Stephen is
named after his driver who took him to safety at the Haven.
| Stephen
is proudly sponsored Wendy
and Tim, their cats Kiska & Misha, in memory of parrot
Nigel. |
 |
|
 |
Charlie
Charlie, tabby juvenile, and so handsome and full of purr. Charlie
is good with kids, dogs and other cats.
| Charlie
is proudly sponsored by Carmen,
in memory of her cat Becky
|
 |
|
 |
(Ruben
and the) Rubenettes
Ruben is the proud father of three daughters and two sons. Seen
here with his five Rubinettes, of which he takes such good care
of always having his offspring cuddled up against him. Ruben is
handsome and fully colour co coordinated and will be one fantastic
pet to have around, perhaps with one of his little ones. The Rubinettes
are about five-six months old.
UPDATE:
Rubenson has a home! The others are still looking. |
 |
Ruben
Ruben the Father of the Rubinettes needs to have his very own
photo up. He is an amazing cat, just look at him and he is so
affectionate.
|
 |
Rubina
Rubina is a modern mum, she lets dad look after the little ones
but I also suspect she needs a rest as she is only little and
very skinny having reared the five Rubinettes. A very sweet little
cat, only young.
| Rubina
is proudly sponsored Katja and Hartmut,
and cats Simba and Nala. |
 |
|
 |
Ruby
Ruby, juvenile, is a ginger female. She like any kitten can play,
purr and enjoy her food. This cat is so beautiful and full of
beans.
| Ruby
is
proudly sponsored by Catherine
in memory of Smoggy
.
|
 |
|
 |
Ray
Ray is a middle-aged gentleman and I call him Ray of Sunshine
as he has brought so much joy to his sponsor Jean. Ray and Jean
love to cuddle and he is one nice cat who seems to accept being
a shelter cat without too much fuss. I can only hope he will not
be here for years and I hope his future owner will take care not
to keep him out in the sun too much as his nose is white. Ray
has the makings of being the purrfect lapcat.
|
 |
Brenda
Brenda is a beautiful young girl in semi-longhair. She is around
six months old and a purring delight.
| Brenda
is proudly sponsored by
Anne with cats Mink and brother
Ian in memory of Birdie. |
 |
|
 |
Homer
II
Homer II a very handsome all ginger male, escaped the green dream
with hardly an inch to spare. He is two-three years old, has a
mighty purr and is a very nice cat all over.
| Homer
II is proudly sponsored by Roslyn, Lindsay
and former Havenite Ginny. |
 |
|
 |
Mary
Lou
Mary Lou is a young cat under a year old. She has been living
rough, begging and stealing food in her neighbourhood and it was
only a matter of time before this girl would have found herself
pregnant and homeless. Things have changed for the better for
Mary Lou and at least she now has food and a warn bed. I don’t
think Mary Lou will be suitable for children.
|
 |
Jodie
Jodie is a senior lady that found herself alone and starving after
having been abandoned. Jodie asked a young o/s girl for help and
got it and Jodie can now look forward to someone to come and snatch
her up before the winter chill sets in. Jodie is a very, very
nice cat with a healthy body weight and a good appetite.
|
 |
Philippa
Philippa, young female, is calling out for a home; her babies
are placed and now it is mum’s turn. Philippa is outgoing
and very friendly, she is one beautiful cat. She will grace any
living room, lounging on the sofa snug and warm.
|
 |
Samantha
Samantha and Sandra (rehomed) are mother and daughter. Samantha
is a bit timid and needs to be re assured that life can be good,
people can be kind and there are homes that will provide a bed
and decent food but above all lots and lots of TLC.
SANDRA HAS A HOME! SAMANTHA IS STILL
WAITING.
| Samantha
and Sandra are proudly sponsored by Julie, Les
and Steven the cat (in memory of Ellie, our little Grembo).
|
 |
|
 |
Indy
Indy, mother of Cindy & Mindy, is a very dark tortie having
been abandoned by her owner. Indy is a little bit timid but purrs
when cuddled and all she needs is re assurance lots of TLC and
she will be a very nice, loving cat to have around.
|
 |
Cindy
Cindy is the more outgoing of the three cats. Cindy is under a
year old and despite starting her life at the Haven by being evacuated
due to the bushfires she has suffered no draw backs and purrs
loudly when cuddled.
| CIndy
is proudly sponsored by Rebecca
and cats Beetle and Rosie.
|
 |
|
 |
Mindy
Mindy, sister to Cindy, is a little bit stand-offish to begin
with but TLC galore will set this cat right and she can from now
on look forward to a happy future.
|
Mindy
is proudly sponsored by Lynne, cats HiHo Silver, Sterling
and Harvey, and dogs Maude, Bailey and greyhound Marvin
plus former Havenites Myrtle, Dudley, Edith & Oswald
in memory of Carl, loved husband and adored dad to all
his pets.
|
 |
|
 |
Melody
Melody is a few years old and a beautiful cat. his little feline
needs a lot of coaxing to come out of her shell but I do believe
that once in a home again she will blossom. She is scared to death
by new peolple, please, have patience with this adorable girl.
| Melody
is proudly sponsored by Susie and Terry, cats Max and
Trim and former Havenite Jessica/Molly.
|
 |
|
 |
Mimes
Mimes a young girl is the ultimate companion, she doesn’t
want to sit on you but next to you and wants to know where her
people are. Mimes might be best suited as an only cat, could of
course get used to a kitten later on.
| Mimes
is proudly sponsored by Kelly, Nick
and cats Carrot and Big Daddy.
|
 |
|
 |
Fitzroy
Fitzroy is a young male and is very affectionate after he gets
to know you. He is pale ginger and from his looks now I can tell
he didn’t have the best of upbringings but better times
ahead, Fitzie.
| Fitzroy
is proudly sponsored Hayley, Nicholas, Hektor, Ava and
former Havenite Johnny..
|
 |
|
 |
Henrietta
Henrietta is a tabby of some years, around four-five I think.
She cannot go with other cats although she puts up with them here
as she has no choice. She is super affectionate.
