Dear
Ingrid,
We can't thank you enough for choosing the very special Marvin
for us (adopted in mid-2004). He has been a perfect fit for our
household, settling into his new home immediately, and was very
well received and accepted by our three greyhounds.
Marvin is the most dog-savvy cat we have ever had. It seems he
understands dog body-language as well as any dog, and probably
better than I do!
Marvin has become an accomplished tester of greyhounds - rescue
greys and Greyhound Adoption Program dogs - and his services are
frequently called upon. He and I check whether retired racers,
or those who have never raced, have the potential to live tolerantly
with cats in their new, adoptive homes. I rely on Marvin's judgment
as much as I rely on my own observations, he's that good!
We also still do a little pre-adoption fostering of greyhounds
and Marvin is an excellent assistant in helping them learn how
to co-exist happily in a multi-animal household. He is so very
gentle and tolerant of even the young, excitable and over-curious
greys. If only I could convince him that house-training the fosters
is also his job!
We
think Marvin enjoys his 'only cat' status,
with all the attention that it brings, and
we adore his loving, affectionate and gentle
nature. But, should he ever show signs of wanting
a feline companion, we know who to call!
Along
with his cuddles, Marvin loves to have a play
in the evenings after dinner. His favourite
toy is an old shoelace, which is lucky, because
Maggie ate all the little mouse toys we bought
him!
The
photo shows our Marvelous Marvin soaking up
some sun with one of his greyhounds - Maggie.
Thanks again, Ingrid!
Love from Jane, Tex and Marvin.
